Namibian Trustco Resources

Richard Chetwode is Chairman of Namibian Trustco Resources, which holds 20 percent of the extremely rich Meya Diamond Mine in Sierra Leone. 

Richard spent most of his career in and around the diamond industry. He worked for a decade for De Beers in London and South Africa and later for Gem Diamonds (Lesotho) and Dominion Diamonds (Canada). 

He worked for US-based jeweller Harry Winston; was a consultant for London-based DFin (which provides financial solutions to the diamond midstream), and UK-based Sustainable & Responsible Solutions.

Richard regularly publishes articles on the strategic issues facing the diamond industry. These pieces appear in Business News Europe as well as publications across the diamond industry. 

He has acted as a consultant on several projects in and outside the diamond industry and previously worked as a mining specialist in the City of London. He is also a non-executive director of a property company, sits on a technology company’s supervisory board, and runs a private company looking for battery metals in eastern Africa.
